About Me

AI Technologist • Data Analyst • Creative Director

I’m Paul Martin McNeill — a technologist passionate about using artificial intelligence, data analytics, and software engineering to create inclusive and intelligent digital systems. My focus lies at the intersection of human-centred design and emerging technology, building tools that empower people and improve everyday life.

My most recent work, the AAC App, represents a significant step in assistive communication technology (AAC). This cross-platform application enables individuals with speech and language difficulties to communicate through pictogram-based interfaces enhanced by on-device AI predictions. Built with React Native, TensorFlow.js, and Firebase, the app provides real-time caregiver dashboards, offline support, and data-driven insights — demonstrating how ethical AI can enhance accessibility, autonomy, and care.

The project integrates machine learning, cloud architecture, and accessibility engineering — showcasing skills in Python, JavaScript, TensorFlow, Power BI, and SQL. It also embodies my commitment to ethical computing: user data privacy (GDPR), WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, and transparent AI interaction were designed into every component. The system is being developed as an open-source framework to make assistive technology more affordable and inclusive.

In parallel, I’ve delivered transformative data analytics solutions for organisations such as Platinum Support & Care Services, leading a full digital transformation from paper-based reporting to real-time performance intelligence. Using Microsoft Access, Power BI, and the Power Platform, I centralised data flows, automated reporting, and produced KPI dashboards that improved operational efficiency and strategic visibility across care teams. My analytical work demonstrates how well-designed data systems can turn fragmented information into clear, actionable insight.

Earlier in my career, as Creative Director at Paramount Perceptions, I combined technical precision with visual design, delivering web platforms that united brand identity with functionality. This role refined my ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage client expectations, and deliver innovative solutions that balance form and function — skills that now underpin my AI and data-driven development projects.

I hold multiple professional certifications, including the Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer and DeepLearning.AI TensorFlow Developer credentials, supported by formal study through my BSc (Hons) in Computing and IT at the Open University. My training covers data engineering, cloud deployment, and full-stack AI integration, providing a solid foundation for advanced research and system design.

I actively collaborate with developers, healthcare professionals, and academics to advance technology that serves society — from predictive analytics to inclusive AI. My guiding philosophy is simple: technology should adapt to people, not the other way around. Whether through data-driven insight or AI-powered communication tools, my goal is to build systems that improve lives with empathy, intelligence, and precision.
